01 — The Audit

A rigorous look
at koshishsolar.com.

We audited the homepage, residential, commercial, contact and blog pages across IA, conversion, content, trust, performance, accessibility and analytics. Fourteen findings below — each one reframed as a clear opportunity for the new build.

06
Critical

Total Findings
i. Hero · Value Prop
Critical

The hero offers no value, no clarity, no proof.

Observed Three rotating tagline slides — "Conservation Means Light Up With Solar", "best Quality Solar We Find Highest Use" — none of them specific. No savings number, no proof, no urgency. The only CTA is a vague "Get A Free Quote". A visitor cannot tell in five seconds what Koshish actually offers or why to choose it.
The opportunity →
A cinematic hero with one specific promise ("Save up to 90% on your power bill. Free site visit in 24 hrs."), a live savings indicator, real proof (800+ installs · ₹78k subsidy assisted), and two CTAs — primary Calculate Savings, secondary WhatsApp us.
ii. Information Architecture
Critical

Navigation is overloaded and hides what converts.

Observed Seven top-level items plus a "More" dropdown that buries On-Grid, Off-Grid and Hybrid. Utility Solar is referenced on the homepage but missing from the nav. Solar Carports — the topic of three of four recent blog posts — has no nav home. The label says "Blog" but the URL is /blogs/.
The opportunity →
A persona-first nav: Home · Residential · Commercial · Industrial · Subsidies · About · Contact. Technical variants (On/Off/Hybrid grid) move inside the relevant persona pages where buyers actually need them.
iii. Lead Capture
Critical

Every single CTA on the site funnels into one bare form.

Observed Every "Get a Free Quote", "Book a Free Site Visit", "Read More", "Contact Us" leads to /contact-us/ — a five-field generic form with one "Select a Sector" dropdown. There is no calculator entry, no WhatsApp deep-link, no callback request, no chat, no instant-quote alternative.
The opportunity →
A conversion ladder — Calculator (low friction) → WhatsApp (medium) → Callback (medium) → Site Visit (high commitment). Each visitor finds a CTA matched to their readiness, instead of being asked to fill a form they aren't ready for.
iv. Content Strategy
Critical

The residential page is a 28-minute SEO essay.

Observed The /residential-solar/ page declares a 28-minute reading time in its own meta. It repeats the install process twice, lists 14+ FAQs in a single accordion, and stuffs "residential solar" 100+ times. The actually-useful cost table (₹75k–₹85k for 1kW, etc.) is buried near the bottom with no anchor or interactivity.
The opportunity →
A scannable persona page — hero CTA → calculator → five reasons → real customer photos with savings → cost slider → top 3 FAQs (rest linked to /faq). SEO long-form sits below the fold or moves into a learn hub.
v. Trust & Proof
Critical

Trust is claimed in copy, never shown in pixels.

Observed "Led by IITians", "Tier-1 components", "Tata Power · Adani Solar" — all written, none shown. Just three text testimonials for a 10-year company with 800+ installations. The YouTube channel exists but is not surfaced. No press mentions, no real install photos, no client logos, no certification badges, no map of installations.
The opportunity →
A visual trust system: founder portraits + IIT alma-mater badges, Tata/Adani brand logos beside "Tier-1" claims, an interactive India map with pin-count per state, video testimonials filtered by persona, real before/after install photos. Trust shown, not claimed.
vi. Calculator · Lead Magnet
Critical

No savings calculator — the industry's #1 lead magnet is absent.

Observed The single most-searched solar question in India is "how much will I save / what will it cost?". Koshish has a static cost table answering this — but it's text, not a tool. Visitors who want to model their savings leave to find a competitor's calculator and convert there instead.
The opportunity →
A delightful 3-step Solar Savings Calculator — bill, roof type, city → personalised savings, payback period, system size, subsidy estimate. Gated lightly by a WhatsApp number. The single highest-leverage page on the new site.
vii. Subsidy & Urgency
High

Subsidy info — the biggest "why now" — is buried in body copy.

Observed PM Surya Ghar Yojana details, ₹30k/₹60k/₹78k subsidy slabs, state-wise eligibility, application steps — all live as long paragraphs inside the residential page. There's no dedicated /subsidies hub, no subsidy calculator, no "you qualify for ₹X" moment, no CTA tied to subsidy urgency.
The opportunity →
A dedicated /subsidies hub plus a subsidy estimator inside the calculator. Real-time eligibility by state and system size, with a clear "Claim your ₹78,000 subsidy with us" CTA. Solar buying is rarely impulse — anchor it to a financial event.
viii. Segmentation
High

Homeowner and factory owner see the same page template.

Observed The Residential, Commercial and Industrial pages share an identical structure, copy tone, FAQs and CTAs — only words are swapped. A factory owner doesn't care about "lowering your bill"; they care about energy as %-of-OPEX, depreciation benefits, and uptime guarantees. Right now the site speaks to neither persona deeply.
The opportunity →
Each persona gets a distinct page architecture — different hero metric (savings vs. ROI vs. uptime), different proof points (neighbour vs. CFO vs. plant head), different CTAs (calculate · request RFP · talk to industrial team).
ix. Performance · Mobile
High

WordPress + Slider Revolution is a known performance trap.

Observed The site declares Slider Revolution 6.7.31 in its meta. The hero ships a 2000×1333px OG image unoptimised. GTM injects synchronously. No apparent lazy-loading, no next-gen image formats. On a typical Indian 4G connection the homepage likely takes 5–7s to become interactive — every 1s of delay drops mobile conversion ~7%.
The opportunity →
A modern static-first build (Next.js or Astro), Cloudinary image pipeline, sub-2-second LCP target, Lighthouse 95+ on mobile, edge-deployed. Performance becomes a feature, not a tax.
x. Pricing Transparency
High

The cost table is the most useful asset — and the least interactive.

Observed The residential page has a clear price table (1kW: ₹75–85k · 3kW: ₹1.89–2.15L · 5kW: ₹3.15–3.57L). This is exactly what buyers Google. But it sits as a static HTML table at the bottom of the page — no anchor link, no calculator hand-off, no subsidy-deducted view, no CTA next to it.
The opportunity →
Convert it into a "Find your price" slider. Drag from 1kW → 10kW, see live price band after subsidy, with a single CTA: "Book this site visit in 24hrs." The page's most powerful data becomes its most powerful conversion tool.
xi. India-Specific UX
High

The site doesn't speak the way Indians actually buy solar.

Observed A small "WhatsApp us" link in the footer is the only nod to WhatsApp — the channel where Indian buyers actually evaluate vendors. No Hindi/regional toggle, no "call me back in the evening" option, no IST time-slot picker. The voice across pages reads like a Western corporate brochure, not a helpful Indian neighbour.
The opportunity →
WhatsApp-first lead capture with a persistent floating CTA, a "Call us in your language" toggle (Hindi · English to start), and a "Book a callback" widget with IST time slots. Microcopy rewritten in a warmer, consultative tone.
xii. SEO & Discoverability
High

SEO surface area is thin and key schema is missing.

Observed Only four blog posts. No FAQ schema markup despite having 14+ FAQs per page. No LocalBusiness schema despite being location-specific. Meta titles are stuffed and read awkwardly ("Solar Solutions for Residential Solar, and Commercial solar"). High-intent searches like "solar panel cost in Jaipur" or "5kW subsidy Gurgaon" are wide open to competitors.
The opportunity →
A programmatic SEO architecture — city × system-size × use-case landing pages from a single template, FAQ + LocalBusiness + Service schema baked in, clean meta titles. One design, hundreds of indexable pages — scales monthly.
xiii. Analytics · Funnel
Medium

There is no measurable funnel — only one URL terminates every journey.

Observed GTM is installed but every CTA collapses into /contact-us/. There's no distinct thank-you URL, no visible event taxonomy, no UTM preservation on internal links, no separation between "calculator started" / "form abandoned" / "lead converted". Marketing spend can't be tied back to which path drove which lead.
The opportunity →
A measurable funnel — distinct URLs per CTA path (calc · whatsapp · callback · site-visit), GA4 + Meta Pixel events at each step, a real /thank-you, retargeting audiences built per path. You'll know exactly which channel drives which kind of lead.
xiv. Accessibility · Hygiene
Medium

Accessibility and basic hygiene fail in several places.

Observed Image alt-text is auto-named (e.g. "1600×900-02-1.jpg"). The footer's "Instagram" link actually goes to a LinkedIn admin URL. The LinkedIn link goes to a private /admin/page-posts/ page. Light text sits over light hero slides at probably-failing contrast. Multiple search widgets and sector dropdowns render on the same page, fighting for attention.
The opportunity →
WCAG 2.1 AA compliance — semantic alt text, keyboard nav, focus rings, AA contrast across themes. Plus a single source-of-truth for social URLs and a hygiene pass on duplicate widgets. Helps SEO, broadens audience, protects the brand.

02 — The Strategy

Five pillars to take you
from 80 to 500.

Going 6.25× isn't a single tactic — it's a system. Here are the five compounding pillars our design will engineer into the new koshishsolar.com.

i.

Conversion-first design,
not decoration.

Every section, every line, every micro-interaction is built around one question: "Will this move someone closer to booking a site visit?" Wow factor and conversion don't trade off — the most beautiful site is also the highest-converting one.

ii.

The Solar Savings Engine.

An interactive calculator that estimates monthly savings, payback period, system size and subsidy — gated by a lead form. The single highest-leverage lead magnet for solar in India.

₹ SAVINGS / MONTH ₹ 8,400 +47%
iii.

Intent-based
segmentation.

Residential, commercial, industrial and utility buyers each get tailored content, calculators, case studies and CTAs — without rebuilding the site four times.

HOME SHOP FACT UTIL
iv.

Trust, layered
everywhere.

Founder story, certifications, partner logos, installation map, video testimonials and a tracker showing impact — kWh saved, CO₂ avoided, ₹ kept.

IIT
v.

SEO + performance
baked-in.

City × use-case landing-page templates, semantic HTML, schema markup, sub-2s LCP, image-optimised pipelines — designed so growth compounds month over month.

03 — The Promise

The offer that
earns the click.

We studied what works on solar sites globally — Tata Power Solaroof, SunPower, Sunrun, Octopus Energy — and matched it against what only Koshish can credibly claim. Below is the recommended hero offer for the new homepage, with the trust numbers that earn the conversion.

i.

It leads with the outcome, not the product.

Indian buyers don't want "solar panels" — they want to stop paying ₹6,000+ to the electricity board every month. "Cut your power bill by 90%" is exactly the result they Googled for.

ii.

"We do the rest" defuses the biggest objection.

The #1 reason Indian homeowners stall on solar is fear of paperwork — subsidy applications, net metering, DISCOM approvals. Four short words take that off the buyer's shoulders.

iii.

Specific numbers beat vague promises.

30 days · ₹78,000 · 800+ · 25 years. Every claim is a precise number that out-converts Tata Solaroof's "India's No.1" or Adani's "industry-leading" hand-waving.

iv.

IIT-engineered is the wedge against the giants.

You won't out-scale Tata or Adani. But "designed by IIT engineers for your specific roof" beats "factory-made panels installed on commission" — positioning the giants structurally can't copy.
